"I just don't get it, you know?" The question was rhetorical as she stared up into the night sky.

"Get what?" He asked, taking the seat next to the brunette, gaze inevitable as he lit up a cigarette.

"Feelings." She replied, bashfully, the taste of metallic entering her mouth from the wound on her lip. "How the fuck do you like someone who could never like you back?" She smiled, feeling bitter at the thought of Karen Jackson. 

"Its rhetorical, Lip. You don't have to answer it." The awkwardness and pressure to come up with a good response had the Gallagher tapping at his knee, and she didn't fail to notice.

She kinda wished he had answered it, though.

But he was oblivious; to her, to her feelings, to who was right for him, and who was wrong.

So he didn't answer.

But she wished.
