Three long years had passed since the horrific events at the Clikerson Farm, where for a few brief hours the Oculi revealed a far more evident influence over the humans they observe with such caution.
During this three-year interval, the main characters matured in the face of the painful experiences that shaped their lives.
The hidden occurrences at the farm marked Mia and Salin not only physically, but also psychologically.
At the center of that emotional storm and the Oculi's terrifying harvest, they witnessed countless people being abducted by one of the two Oculi factions.
The paths of the protagonists, once united, eventually split into two distinct groups. The narrative would no longer be limited solely to the core duo of Mia and Salin, as it now turned its focus toward Mia's younger siblings.
There was young Victoria, who had matured after painful events during a school excursion. And Harry, who had also grown in the midst of his concern for his family's safety as he intensely investigated the condemnable actions of the Oculi.
