Guardians: Survival is based on the Guardians of Ga'Hoole series by Kathryn Lasky. Set three hundred years forward in an alternate timeline where the Pure Ones have conquered the Southern Kingdoms, Survival follows Altheir, a Spotted Owlet completely oblivious to the dangerous world she inhabits. Altheir lives a peaceful life with her parents in Tyto, being told the stories of the Guardians. But when tragedy strikes after a mysterious stranger arrives, Altheir finds herself teaming up with Sygrid, a young hagsfiend who knows nothing of the world around him. Alone and afraid, the unlikely duo must try to survive the horrors of the night, including predators, the impending threat of starvation, and the trackers of the Pure Ones, who are none too pleased that Altheir escaped their grasp.
