The Captain had been using Mark. They didn't realize how bad of a person they had been until one night when their mental health was low. 

They didn't know what they wanted. Until they did. They wanted a hug.

But the thing to summon Mark didn't have a hug button. In fact, all of the buttons were things that the Captain could probably do themself.

That's when the Captain realized what a horrible person they were.

They loved how much control they had, they loved how easy it was to glide their finger against the canvas. One day, they accidentally spilt some blood onto their canvas. They tried to rub it away, but.. It felt good. Even better than paint. They loved the feeling of the blood against the canvas, rubbing into it and creating an amazing picture. How could they not like it? But they couldn't use it again, they could use a substitute. He sees a fighter who won't give up, no matter what hell life seems to throw in her face. He wants to know Emily Jones. He wants to know all the lines and strokes that make up her picture. Even the dotted ones she thinks she erased.
