Y/N just wanted to know what it would be like if they could go back and see if they could do something. Do anything to save their friends, maybe even just an enemy. Constantly regretting a choice they made back then. They couldn't do anything but watch the warm sun rise every morning, mocking them. If it could come back, why not them? Everyday was stale, bleak, and dishearteningly bright. It was a perfect day, so why do they feel as if their organs were constantly on display? Showcasing every sore that seeped into their bones and the unforgiving tendrils of hopelessness securely wrapped on their ribcage? Instead of dying in a crimson field with their friends they had chosen to lay their grave in the mahogany undergrowth befitting a noble. An end so comfortable it was almost an insult to even think of their friends. As the disease caressed the cells in their blood they used their last strength to utter a prayer to the god who ferried their friends.

"I understand. You heard the place you loved was in trouble, so you came back, but I don't-I just-why didn't you take me?" Here it was, at last. Catharsis, or something close to it. "I would have hunted them down with you, Philza, the people who did that to your town. I would have given you your vengeance on a silver platter. I would have given you the world." Philza didn't look guilty. He just looked tired. "I didn't hunt them down, though." // Or, that fic where Techno and Phil are old immortals, and Tommy and Wilbur are decidedly... not. Angst ensues. //
