The first stage of the virus is a day or two of what may seem like a common cold. You lose your voice, and when it comes back, it sounds different. Better...but different. The second stage is a longer period of less noticeable change. For around two weeks, small changes in your appearance take place. Your hair becomes glossier, your skin is clearer, you feel stronger, more powerful. The changes will be an everyday occurrence, and since they are so small, most people won’t notice. With every change, you will feel less emotionally attached to everything, and everyone around you. The final stage takes place after all the changes cease, and you are at your perfect physical and mental state. Your body enters a feverish, and it seems that you would have an incurable disease, even though your mind is numb, and you feel no pain. Within 3-4 days your body seems to have entered a comatose state, those close to you start to break, they wish for you to stay, to live. You feel their emotions around you, but none of your own. Then your heart starts to race, with all the emotions around you, then it ‘fails’ you. Your body ‘dies’. Your mind goes to sleep for a while. After you funeral, you are usually found. I wasn’t.

Curses. Desire. Death. Rebirth. These are the exact things I experienced at Matrix Academy. In a short period of three months I had a combination of the best and worst times of my life. My parents had practically left me out for dead in the middle of nowhere - but you know what? I haven't even got to the bad part yet. Why is there a gaping hole in my memory from the past three months? I wake up underground, having to dig my way out of soil, with no consciousness of my whereabouts. But then everything is finally explained. Frost happened. [contains: violence, strong language, strong sex, gore, trauma]
