When Indiana's parents send her to California for the summer, she's more than upset. Her perfect summer of reading and occasionally seeing her friends is ruined by their latest attempt to savour their marriage. As she boards the plane, she expects the worst. What she doesn't expect is meeting her scatterbrain but lovable aunt, or liking her newfound job at the local bookshop. And what she definitely does not expect is bumping into a sarcastic, cynical idiot who seems to be taking an interest in finding out everything about her. Suddenly Indiana's summer isn't looking so bleak. But Indiana's summer has to come to an end at some point. And it looks like time really does fly when you're having fun.

Stella Grayson and Lucas Patterson have been best friends for two years. They hug and call each other cute names. They hold hands and kiss each other. They fight and make up in one day. They spend most of their free time together. So basically they aren't your average best friends. So what happens when Stella finds herself falling for Lucas and wants more than friendship but doesn't want to ruin it? What happens when Stella's attitude towards Lucas change? Would Lucas see behind her built up walls or would their friendship never be the same? "So you're in love with your best friend" My face dropped. My heart was hammering against my chest and this was the last thing I thought I'd hear from someone. "No I'm not" I blinked warily, denying it. "Oh come on Stella! It's really obvious" He was mad at me and I really felt like crying. He was the one before the last person I wanted to find this out. And the last person was Lucas.
