Anna Parker is not so outspoken. In her mind, being reserved is easiest; no embarrassment, no humiliation.

When Aiden Wilder comes crashing into her life - literally - and makes it difficult for her to do anything but talk, she slowly finds that even a boy who comes across as complicated, contradicting, and confusing can be so different than what meets the eye. She soon realizes just how true the phrase 'Don't judge a book by its cover,' is, or even by the first few chapters, for that matter.

Anna learns, slowly and gradually, about new people and old friends and how to leave things be when every internal instinct is telling you it needs to be fixed. She discovers that there is so much more to the world than routine, and how simply it can happen if you just allow yourself to take the risk.

Anna finds that sometimes, falling is better than just standing still.

Trying to act like papa. But guess what, Dylan, you never cared about me or what I did!" She screamed, taking steps back towards the stairs. "You never cared when I was a baby, you didn't care when I was a toddler, and guess what! You don't care now. You're only pretending to care to make yourself feel better. But you don't!
