"Please don't." I choked out, not wanting to look at him. I knew he was leaving. I didn't want to see him go.
"I have to. I-I can't stay here anymore." His voice cracked. "This," he pointed to himself, then me, "this is doing nothing but damaging us."
"But I love you." I whispered, looking down at my hands. "You promised."
"I'm sorry." He said quietly. I just sat, looking at anything but him. I heard the front door open and close, and I knew he left.
