Upon returning, Chiyo learns what happened to her best friend and spends the next 50 years making herself stronger all while disguised as a man to make travel easier. Inuyasha is awakened and she searches all over the place for Inuyasha. After teaming up with Inuyasha, Kagome, Miroku and Shippo, Chiyo leads the group to the demon slaying village where she once trained. They find the villagers slain before meeting Sango, who wished to kill Inuyasha who she believed killed her village. After seeing the truth, the group continues their journey to find Naraku and Chiyo crosses paths with the long foreseen true love that Reiki predicted that she'd meet one day, southern wolf demon tribe leader, Koga. Chose to be kind to him but because of his no trust in anyone he assumed that if she was taking care of him then she was his wife or relative. Why else would someone hang around some stranger? She didn't know what to do, she wanted to tell him the truth but she didn't want to scare him or hurt him, so she went along with a lie to protect him and take care of him by pertaining to be his wife.
