chloe strauss lives a basic teenage girls life. drama and crushes. or, at least she used too. after one of her closest friends, allison, unexpectedly goes missing in the middle of the night a couple days before the start of sophomore year and her friend group falls apart, her family decides to go abroad to portugal. after a long year of beaches, tanning and relaxation it was time to return to rosewood. as she exits the plane that's now in pennsylvania that was seemingly just in portugal, she prepares herself to confront the very place where it all began, where all her secrets first took root.
