The Doctor, a mysterious time traveling alien, has been through so many losses and so much sadness, that he is scared to even think about getting a new companion after everything that happened with his previous one, Donna Noble.
 So when he comes across two teenage girls, 17 year old Reese Long and 18 year old Hannah Collins, and sees how different they are, he starts to question himself.
