Inspired by Bridgerton, this story is from my NA Fantasy novel I'm in the process of writing. This Deleted Balcony Scene is a chapter I was going to throw out but loved far too much. It notes the beginning of a turbulent love triangle between Queen Emelene and brothers William and Graysen.
Emelene finally has accepted her feelings for the safe and caring brother, William, but when they're close she can't help but think of his brother, the mysterious, sarcastic, older one.

✔ Ex-Friends to Lovers ✔ Victorian Era ✔ Slow Burn ✔ Forced Proximity ✔ Idyllic Countryside ✔ He falls first ≈≈≈ She vowed to guard her heart. He vowed to win it back. After a failed marriage and years spent piecing herself back together, Roselyn Whitewood has no intention of giving her heart away again. Love, after all, is a dangerous game-one she's already lost once. But when fate brings Ignatius Clark back into her life, the infuriatingly charming doctor who's always been just out of reach, Roselyn finds herself questioning everything she thought she knew about second chances. Clark has been in love with Roselyn for as long as he can remember. He's watched her from afar, waited for the right moment-but now, he's done waiting. He knows she's been hurt before, but he also knows this: they belong together. And he'll do whatever it takes to prove it. But love is never simple. As secrets unravel and old wounds resurface, Roselyn must decide if she's ready to trust again-or risk losing the one man who has always been meant for her. For fans of slow-burn romance, undeniable chemistry, and love that stands the test of time, Trevone Hall is a sweeping historical romance about risk, redemption, and the kind of love worth fighting for.
