Rachel Kelly has always put others first. After a drastic life experience she is afraid to let a certain amount of people in so they won't get hurt as well. Ever since that day she only sees people looking and treating her with pity. Though all her life she was taught to be strong in order to get anything out in life. To cope she has always turned to music. She knows that when she presses play all the worries are behind her and she is taken away from reality with a small smile on her face. Her dream was to help people feel good about themselves and smile when they here her voice on the radio. Though even if she has always helped others to believe in themselves, she still has trouble in believeing  in herself. With the help of her boyfriend David, he pushes her into going on one of the most popular American television competition in hopes of seeing her dreams come true. Though when a certain Australian band member takes a keen interest in her, Rachel's life will take another unexpected turn.
