"You have no idea what you do to me, love." His hands were like magnificent magnets who attracted to my skin with every passing second. His eyes were gorgeous and so alluring that it told a dozen stories at once. "You know my condition. You know we can't be together, it's only going to hurt for you." He didn't understand how complicated this was and it pained me that he didn't even try to. He was convinced this would work out, lead to matrimony and beautiful families- but no. We all knew the sad reality awaiting us. "Love, I don't care what you say. I'm going to save you and you will be mine for eternity." "For eternity?" The tears in my eyes were evident and my voice broke. He cupped my cheek lovingly and shed a tear of his own as he gazed into my soul. "Eternity."

"Leave me, Ivan." The words scraped out of my throat, raw and broken, each syllable a struggle as the weight of everything crashed down on me. I couldn't breathe. This wasn't how it was supposed to end. Not like this. His voice pierced through the chaos like a lifeline. "Tell me, my love... how can I leave my heart behind?" My eyes fluttered shut, and for a moment, I let the sound of him-just him-wrap around me like the only truth I had left. "You'll hate me," I whispered, the guilt carving holes in my chest. He stepped closer, voice low and trembling with something fierce. "I'd rather hate you and have you, Iris... than love you and lose you."
