It was nearly two in the afternoon when Charles got back to his flat. He'd enjoyed meeting up with Max, but something was bothering him about the whole exchange. Why now try and catch up? They'd both been in F1 for several years now, and out of karts for much much longer, so what made now special?
And then a thought hit him. He was newly single. And he'd just gotten a new haircut and looked damn good. Words from lunch echoed in Charles' mind- "I wanted to get to know you better," how he'd agreed with Charles' tastes, his whole attitude. Did Max... have a crush on him?

Max texts Charles when he means to text his date. Things spiral, and they both think the other is in love with them. In reality, Charles just wants to be friends, and Max can hardly stand him. And then everything gets out of hand.
