Aidan has been warned about the dangers of being with a human. His people live on the edges of society, in the shadows and alleys. And one day, if he's willing to submit to the birthright ceremony, he'll lead the next generation to continued wealth and prosperity across their territory.

There's just one little problem.

The first time he meets college student, Emmerson, a fire is ignited in his blood, and no matter how hard he tries, he can't resist their connection. She is everything he shouldn't want or need. Human. Fragile. While he hides his burgeoning feelings for her, danger lurks at the border of their territory, ready to pounce.

The longer Aidan denies his birthright, the weaker he gets, and the closer to human he becomes. If Aidan doesn't assume his rightful place, he'll put his people at risk, perhaps even the whole town. But if he agrees to become the next leader, any hope of being human, of being with Emmerson, dies.

In the end, who will he choose to protect?

31 parts Complete Mature

Meridian has dedicated her life to the growth of her pack. When her mate mysteriously shows up in her life, things begin to seem perfect. That is, until unknown enemies threaten the stability of the pack she's worked so hard to build. Will she lose everything, or will her love truly be able to conquer all? "It's crazy, but I saw a wolf in the woods yesterday, and something told me I should follow it. I could, um, smell honey and coconut, and I followed that smell here. You probably think I'm insane," he mumbles, smiling sadly, "and you have guests, so I'll leave now." He must not be a wolf, because we can associate certain scents with friends and loved ones, and he seemed confused by the idea. But I can't deny the sparks we felt when we touched earlier, and before I can help it I'm calling to him. "Wait, please, come inside! I'm Meridian," I smile, holding out my hand. He smiles, saying, "I'm Malachi, nice to meet you," before shaking my hand, making goosebumps spread across my skin at the contact. Clearing my throat as I blush, I step aside and let him enter my home. If he's a human, this is the dumbest thing I've ever done."
