After the previous ceremony that left a confused, scared, and disappointed town in the wake of Mirabel not receiving a gift, Antonio was meant to prove with confidence that the Madrigals and their magic remained strong. Everything was fine! The magic was strong! Everyone performed their duties to the community. Bruno performed his by hiding himself in the walls.
