Josephine Raphelia is a Siren who has been running from the King of Valencia her whole life, and when the day finally comes that she is taken captive by who she believes to be one of the king's guards, she soon begins to realize that nothing is as it seems in her world. 

The people she once thought she could trust are filled with secrets and betrayals and as she meets new allies along the route to her freedom, she unravels the plots in her life while also trying to cling to a family she never knew but will fight with her last breath to protect. 

It is only when a god of old enters the fight and challenges her feelings for her captor that Josephine realizes this is much bigger than she ever could have realized, and soon finds that she might be the key to unlocking the answers of her freedom, and the freedom of her people, once and for all.
