Aytia and her sister Naomi have loved to explore since they were young girls. It was practically in their blood. Their father, Roeden, had once been a highly respected figure in the world of exotic trade, having found many priceless artifacts and treasures in his younger days. He never had to try very hard though, it seemed as if the items would call out to his spirit. Times had grown different, however, and the girls' father had given up on his lifelong passion after the death of his wife. He had tried to persuade them into giving up as well. After all, they lived in a rural part of the Oqeokesta Kingdom, and had to pick up odd jobs to help pay their fealty's to King Casiius. The two did what they could to help their father scrape by. They did not listen to his pleas for them to stop seeking treasure though. The worse their situation would get, the more they wanted to seek some way to get free of this broken society. Aytia and Naomi believed they could find riches beneath the surface of this land in order to pay their way out of this wretched place they called home. They got a bit more than they had anticipated, however, when their shovels struck family secrets, lies, deceit and the truth of the circumstances around their mother's mysterious death.

Just one look-and I knew he'd be the one to break all my walls. I was 26, never dated, always hesitant. My brothers kept me sheltered, and I let them. Then Abdulrazaq came along. Without saying a word, he awakened feelings I didn't know I had. He made me feel seen. Desired. Like a woman. I thought I was the luckiest girl alive-married to my first love, the man of my dreams. Sweet, patient, romantic... everything I'd read about in novels. But not all that glitters is gold. Marriage wasn't what she imagined. For Iqram, love became pain-physical, emotional, and psychological. Still, she loved him-too much, maybe. This is Iqram's story. A love that started like a dream... and turned into something far more cruel. -WinterBearz
