During the events of Earth's Mightiest Heroes facing against Thanos' army Pre-Blip, Shield had began a new project, doing further research on the Super Soldier serum. Scientists begun experimenting on a 6ft 3, 18 year old Samoan male, Brett Maverick. However, the true nature of the experiment was to manufacture a Super Soldier who possessed mental characteristics and strong drive reminiscent of Hydra's infamous Winter Soldier.
Shield were successful in injecting the serum and exposing Maverick to far worse torture Barnes had endured. Unfortunately, the project been postponed due to the rise of the Blip.
After post-blip, the new awakened Super Soldier was prepared to carry out any mission on his own.
