Stronger and stronger until I can't ignore it anymore. I'm in love with you, Clover. So damn in love with you." His voice is thick with emotion, tears threatening to spill down his face. "I don't know how it happened, or when it happened, but it did. And I tried to fight it, I tried to convince myself that I didn't love you, but I was lying. To myself, and to you." He looks at her unconscious form, imagining her sparkling eyes and warm smile. "I miss you so much, Clover. I miss hearing your voice, seeing your face, feeling your touch. I miss fighting with you, making up with you, just being with you... I never realized how lonely I was before you came into my life. How empty and meaningless my days were. You brought light and color into my world, and I didn't even appreciate it. I took it for granted, and I'm so damn sorry for that." *********** Clover Whitlock navigates a world of secrets, shadows, and shattered dreams. HARLEY WALKER Maddie had become my addiction over the past few months, I don't know if the feelings extend any farther than that, but I knew that I craved her. Craved to see the blush that caused her cheeks to become the darkest of reds. Craved to see her wince whenever someone used a curse word and the worst of all was that I craved to feel her. Platonically, of course. This wasn't ... normal for me. MADELINE HANSEL He was the ledge to a very deep, dark, and deadly lake. You could only tread so far before falling in completely. I had already taken one step and even though the water was sickly cold I couldn't help but see if the next step was just a little warmer or maybe I liked the cold. I liked it because it was what I was used to. -.-.-.-.- In which her brother's estranged best friend moves back and saves her by sacrificing his peace.
