A prologue of the short story I previously published on Wattpad, Sacrifice. Mia finds herself keep losing her consciousness. After an investigation, she finds out her energy is being absorbed by a spirit that she thought she had vanquished. In order to fully vanquished the spirit, Mia must kill it using a special blade that can only be conjured by Mia or Adam, her fiance. But, to conjure the blade, they have to exhaust their energy which might lead to death. For Adam's safety, Mia is willing to go for the extreme, even if it means risking her life. Will it work?

Mia is a waitress at a local restaurant where she met her not so local boyfriend who seemed to be the slick, cool, bad boy that girls love. They were introduced by the guy she fell in love with in high school. It was love at first sight until she saw the real side of the guy she though she knew. Now she doesn't want to go home for she gets physically, emotionally, and verbally abused. Yet nobody knows because it's hidden, every scare, every bruise, and every emotion. But when she falls back in love with her high school crush, she realizes what she wants but she knows the fate her relationship holds. Can she get out of her abusive relationship without getting herself in more trouble or worse? Can she get out clean or will she regret the path she has chosen? **MATURE CONTENT**
