~My heart is pierced by Cupid, I disdain all glittering gold, There is nothing can console me but my jolly sailor bold.~ In folklore mermaids are shown as delicate beautiful creatures, but to the men who live on the sea, mermaids are truly fearsome beasts. Pirates and sailors alike feared the mermaid, for few men ever lived to tell the tale of meeting one. Marina is a young mermaid, knowing little more than how to successfully seduce and devour her victims. Capturing the hearts of men was an art, they seldom needed lure with more than the promise of a kiss. A captain sets out on a journey to slay a rare black tailed mermaid in a twisted plot of revenge, using Marina as a tool. Yet the question remains: will Marina live through the events? And why can't she shake this eerie feeling that she has around the Captain, accompanied by an unsettling longing towards Jasper, a recent addition to the Captain's crew...
