We're Only Friends

From Illinois to Michigan, soon-to-be senior Leana Driscoll struggles with PTSD and anxiety after a traumatic family incident. Looking for a fresh start, Leana and her Mother move to large town Holland in hopes of creating a better environment for Leana to finish her high school years. Befriended by outgoing students Amari and Gwen, she is welcomed into a diverse friend group where she is encouraged to be herself. The story focuses on mental illness affecting teenagers and the support from close friendships and blooming romantic relationships.
