My beloved Kota, how many more times must I bury you?
Kota, the centuries are long. When the years between seeing you are too many and I begin to forget how it feels when one of you holds me or the sound of your voice, I return to that place. The place it all began. I gaze upon your depiction on the ruined walls of Pompeii and weep.
Kota, I once told my Owen that I'd sacrifice my immortality to grow old and die after a lifetime with you all. A mortal life with a definite end is preferable to an endless eternity without the nine of you. Now I'm damned to this immortal life, chasing after you as you're reborn. A curse I've bestowed upon us all because I couldn't bear to let you go.
Kota, this journal you gifted me had been an immeasurable tether that keeps me at bay. When I bathe and sink, I often think about giving into the waters. It is only this journal in which i can speak to you and the promise of a day we'll yet again meet, that has me rising for air. I only wish I could write to the others, except it feels dirty to do so. If only they too gave me a way to be connected to them. Instead I whisper to the stars, begging for them to return to me. Return to me, my love. Hold me once more. I cannot bear this existence without you in it.
