Having your freedom taken away is the worst, right? Not for Sam but for Nick it was the worst. Sam liked being taken care of Nick didn't. Nick has a sworn duty to protect the royal family. Sam's sworn duty was to not die at a young age.

Samuel Luverson has been an attraction to the aquarium for over 15 years. The aquarium owners thought Sam would die in a couple years but they were wrong. The owners had scuba divers check on Sam every other day and take pictures of him to mass-produce and sell to people. Sam was taken away from his family when he was 4 years old. Sam can't remember anything from the time he spent with his family. Sam had to be taken care of by the scuba divers since he was still too young to do the things on his own. Sam has always thought the aquarium was his home and the people that visited him were his family. Little did Sam know that his life was going to change when Nick Nafur came into his life.

Nick Nafur is part of the royal guard trying to find and save the prince from any harm that comes his way. While out on patrol Nick was caught. Even though he tried his hardest to escape the razor-sharp nets that he was caught in that started tearing away at his skin, Nick eventually passed out from all of the blood loss. Nick was transported to the same aquarium Samuel Luverson was in. Nick's cuts were deep, too deep for a normal human to treat him. The humans did the best they could to heal Nick and get him back to normal. The owners had a mer-doctor come in a look at the wounds on Nick's body. The doctor healed Nick and gave him the all-clear to put him in the water with the other merman.
