Many know of Ryker and Viggo Grimborn only. But, there is one more Grimborn child. Stryker. The eldest of the three. Not much is known of his teenage years on their island, The Seal Reef, what is known is that one night, he just disappeared. Took his father's sword and mother's helmet and was gone. Not a trace. Not a note. Many septaclate that it was because he was secretly a dragon sympathizer. Others speculate that he has gone off to find his missing parents. Viggo and Ryker could honestly care less. Ryker has few memories of his elder brother, and Viggo even less so. Although, sometimes, late at night, with a cold cup of mead, Viggo can't help but wonder what Stryker is doing out there. Unbeknownst to him, Stryker thinks the same of him.

As his only son, he is next in line for the chiefdom which wouldn't be a problem, if he wasn't a runt. Viking's believe that a name is what strikes fear into your enemies. Hiccup's obviously doesn't. The name is given to those who won't survive their first winter. Those who don't belong, those who will not be any more than a burden. Hiccup isn't an exception to this. I mean, sure he survived his first winter, and the next fifteen. But he caused problems, not on purpose. Things just happened when he was around. First when he was six, and a nearby furnace blew up when he lost his temper. Then when he was eight, nine, eleven. These strange happenings kept occurring, and nothing he did helped. Everything he did, everything he tried had some way of turning back on him. For the longest time he believe that the God's cursed him.
