A few years after the disappearance of Number Five and the death of Number Six, Ben Hargreeves, another tragedy happened at the Academy; Number Eight, Tabitha Hargreeves fell into a deep comatose, which is the result of an unusual use of her new ability.

A miracle happened after following the death of their father, Sir Reginald Hargreeves, Tabitha Hargreeves awakes from her deep coma after 14 years of not being able to age and looking the exactly the same she did the day she fell into that slumber. Now, Five appearing out of nowhere and claiming the world is ending, it is up to the Umbrella Academy to save the world.
