Varuni Winterfell is a Voidwalker. And as the CEO of her own company in Havenward, the city above Veska, this Magius is very busy. She has to help her family, her brother and sister are relying on her, so when she is met with a deal that could immensely help her family, she needs to go for it.

But not everything is as it seems, as when she makes her decision, she meets a vampire named Victoria who is more powerful than she's ever seen. And she is in danger, as is Varuni's mate.

The only one who can help her is an unlikely ally - a Voidwalker's worst enemy, the Tempestborn girl who arrived at her door late one night. Who can Varuni and Victoria trust? Can this Tempestborn be trusted around those Varuni loves? Or is she someone with an ulterior motive?
