In a far off land, a forest burns and a man loses his life. Thousands of kilometres away and hundreds of years later a teenage boy finds a gemstone which starts him on an epic and terrifying path...
This is a story which I have been working on for years. It started off very
different but has gradually evolved over the last few years. This is
the latest version of it, which I hope will also be the last. I have
also done extensive work on developing a lot of backstory and lore for
the Universe, which I hope to be able to use more in later stories.
Also, it should be noted that there won't be anything more than allusions to fantasy elements for the first few chapters.

As the trees and its land slowly burn down by he deadly purple acid, a man that was watching from afar shivered at this sight. This has been going on for ages, and the creature hasn't been stopped. If they didn't stop the thing on time, everything they knew, everything they have ever known. Every building ever created, every world that has been generated, would be gone. The man looked towards his companion, or was he, his companion? His friend has been acting a bit strange, acting anything but not himself. The man took a deep breath and sighed. My friend at school told me he was writing a book called this but didn't know what it was going to be about, so I said "why don't we both write a version of it and then compare them to see what we each did differently," so this is it!
