Veronica Hendrix, also known as 002, has been part of Project MKUltra since she was 11 when her abilities started to show and her father died under mysterious circumstances. Dr. Brenner took her, covering for it by forging papers that said she was also dead.

Making friends with 001, she quickly falls into a routine, looking after the other test subjects, while her abilities are eventually restricted by a chip implanted into her neck.

During the massacre in Hawkins Lab, Veronica manages to escape to the town of Hawkins, wandering about, until a kind old lady takes her in, helping her navigate through the strange new world outside of the lab.

A few years later, kids mysteriously start getting killed, and Veronica begins to investigate, suspecting a person from her past is committing these heinous murders...
