Vecna really did a number on Steve. As if the other times with the upside down weren't bad enough. He felt kinda numb. Yeah saving the world multiple times feels great, but what's to do after?

Steve POV Eddie and Steve have known each other since middle school. It wasn't until the recent touch with the Upsidedown had they really gotten close again. The kids adored him, all of their friends loved him. He fit right in, and Steve had fallen absolutely head over heals for him. It's been exactly 6 months since Eddie was taken by the monsters in the Upsidedown. 6 months since Steve's felt anything, or wanted to feel anything. 6 months since he's been happy to see someone, or hear someone else's voice. How has it only been 6 months? Steve's drinking has gotten out of hand, so has the undying need to numb it all away. One of the best friends he's had since Robin, gone in a matter of moments. Eddie was easy to talk to, his personality was infectious. He could light up a whole damn room with just a smile. Nothing's been the same since he's been gone. It used to bother him for a while. He wanted to prove he was more than a pretty face and some muscles. Prove to his father he could take over the business when he was old enough. Prove he could become something and do amazing things just like they told every other kid. But after enough time he just got used to it. He made it a part of himself. It was easier to dumb himself down than to deal with the overwhelming feelings he felt on a daily basis. Heartbroken love
This story is a Steve x oc fem. But at first it's mainly following the friendship of Eddie and the main girl. Steve is just mentioned at times. He becomes the leading man after the whole Vecna awfulness. I will make this into 3 parts; Part 1 Friends and enemies, Part 2 Death and destruction, Part 3 Heartbreak and Love Emma moves with her dad all the way from Sweden to Indiana in the United states. In the small town of Hawkins she's new to school and feels like a freak. She befriends the outgoing Eddie Munson and he becomes the best friend she could have ever dreamt of. She loves him like the brother she's never had. But seeing as something's weird in this small town she's dragged in to events leading to Eddie's death. Emma doesn't know how to deal with life anymore, how do you go on when your best friend in the whole world dies? Well, you could always fall in love with the one guy you swore you'd never ever be more than a hook-up to. The one who helps you cope with Eddie's horrible faith, because he's equally heartbroken over it. This takes place during and after the events of Vecna's curse.
