15 year old Eric Haywood lives in a country ruled by fear. Literally. Every year the Superior, equivalent of a king, orders the Readings, a mandatory event where peoples fears are "read." They say its for their protection, so the Superior can keep their fears from ever coming true. Eric has always believed this, until he wakes up from his 5th Reading with a gun pointed at his head, labeled Unreadable.
Now Eric's life is turned into a race for survival.
This is a story about a boy whose fears cant be seen. Who meets a young girls whose hidden world of books makes her feel invincible.
