Everyone knows the classic fairytales such as Cinderella, Snow White, etc. They all start with "Once upon a time" and end with  "lived happily ever after". We know these stories from beginning to end, however, what happens when a fairytale book ends up in the hands of three young laddies but the stories are not exactly the classic ones you grew up on. Even worse, these unfamiliar stories don't all have endings as the pages to some of the stories run blank. 
With no ending to certain stories, what are they to do with the book? Maybe they will just have to finish the stories and come up with the ending themselves.

Does every story end in a Happily Ever After? Let me just start off by saying that when you're a princess, no one ever actually asks you if you wan't to be a princess. You just are. Which sucks. There are rules. A lot of rules. Always look your best. Always stand up straight. Never walk flat footed. Always be polite. And never, under any circumstances, use sarcasm. Mother added that last rule after I learned to speak. This was the life I, Genevieve Rosemary Rochester of Chestwood was living. At least, I was until my father grew very, very ill and I was sent on a quest, with some boy I barely knew, clear across the land by my Fairy Godmother to locate ingredients for a potion to heal him. And yes, I have a Fairy Godmother, but more on that later. So, one shaving of a unicorn's horn. One chip from the troll's bridge. And one drop of dragon's blood. All to be mixed by the land's one and only wizard. Oh, and did I mention I had to be back with the potion before midnight in three days? And so, I began my journey with no one but William Porter, a boy whom I had just met, even though I was already betrothed to a jerk of a prince, and my trusty steed, Wesley, who was the closest thing I've ever had to a friend. Like all interesting stories, this one begins with a curse. A kingdom that is cursed to an eternal winter. But the thing is, the curse hasn't been broken. So it is still really fricken cold, all the time. It has been so long that many younger people don't remember what summer is even like, they don't know any different. It has been so long that maybe the curse can never be broken. After all, such things only happen in fairytales. I curse this land with ice and snow, A curse of misery, a curse of woe. You have welcomed in hate and fear to take away what I most hold dear. In order for this winter to fall apart, You must give me that which can thaw a frozen heart.

All fairy tales are supposed to end happily ever after, no? What if they were just lies? The truths behind those tales could be as black as the night for all you know.
