This was how he died. He just knew it. Water would flood his lungs at any moment, and the only thing that would be left would be death. 

But when the water around him began to bubble violently; everything changed.

There, just out of the corner of his eye, he saw it. Something was moving under the water. His panic brought images of sharks and giant squids to mind; things that were deadly in their mere existence. But whatever this was, wasn't big enough to be something like that. His eyes grew wider as he finally picked out the general shape of something humanoid, and that something was moving upward from under the water.

What was coming, and what did it mean?
