Ferin Calloway, niece of the famous Capt. Pete "Maverick" Mitchell, was once the best pilot in her class at Top Gun. But when a single decision causes her to quit the program, her friends, in particular one Bradley "Rooster" Bradshaw, resents Ferin with a passion. To him, she abandoned her friends to the pompous team leader Jake Seresin, the ultimate Hangman. When four years go by and the academy is just a whisper on the wind, Ferin, Rooster, and the rest of their crew are pulled back into the politics, danger, and romance, of Top Gun.
