One hundred years ago, there was a princess, and two knights. When calamity struck, and the knights fell, the princess sealed herself away with the calamity until her knights returned to her aid. After defeating the calamity, the knights and the princess believe they will have a peaceful life together.
That is, of course, until past reincarnations of the hero's spirit show up, asking to drag Link on an adventure. He agrees, as long as his long time best friend and fellow knight G (short for Ganon) can come along.
They don't take too kindly to the hero's dear friend to say the least.
