The Song Bird and The Bay Tree

"You're the one Sir Ray spoke of, the most powerful creature in the forest," he says in amazement. "Although, truth be told, I was expecting something a bit more...extravagant."

I simply stare at him with a neutral expression and sigh, "Do you believe him? Do you believe that I am the most powerful creature in the forest?"

He doesn't hesitate to nod, making me scoff.

"Then you should fear me, as the others do," I state, turning away from him.

"What do you mean? What do I have to fear from a creature as beautiful as you?" he asks.

I turn to him and huff an unamused laugh, "Is that all you see? A beautiful creature?"

He shakes his head and steps towards me, "I also see the creature that killed my father. But even so, I am not afraid."
