The Revelation by dstry0515
5 parts Complete Mature
In the beginning, there was death. The darkness flows from hues of purple and orange, the moon rising to kiss the sun's rays one last time as the darkest cloud of night I've ever seen falls over our tiny haven. I catch Will's face from the side of my vision and my heart tightens slightly. The tick of his jaw wouldn't be noticeable for anyone but me. His best friend, his lifeline. A solemn tear forms in my eye as he wipes his face, another tear falling for the family he lost. I love him. Utterly and desperately so, but, there's nothing I can do about that. The ultimate forbidden fruit, if you will. I reach to comfort him and he doesn't respond. I open my mouth to speak and he looks my way, but the gleam in his dark brown eyes hits the moonlight just right and I fall. My voice escapes my throat and I can't do it. I've tried for years to tell him. 10 years, actually. All this time, I hopelessly remained devoted to a ghost who had given the best of himself to a fiery red-head with a sassy personality and the body of a supermodel. For 10 years, I held to the desperate thought that maybe, just maybe, he'd be someone I could count on. Instead, I watched him marry my best friend, smiled as they welcomed their son. Stood, holding that beautiful boy as his mother was in the first round of executions after the beginning of the Revelation. Helped heal Will's wounds in the aftermath. Cried, clutching the tear-stained shirt of my best friend as his son took his last staggering breath in that first harsh winter. The guilt of my emotions crawl through me. My heart twisting in regret, guilt, desperation, and grief. I loved my best friend. She was so much more than that; she was my family. In this dystopian quick read, join a group of people desperate to recapture their freedom and end a tyrant's reign.

{COMPLETED} "now that you've had your fun electrocuting me, would you care to hop in the backseat?" ---------------------------------------------------------- Freak DNA. That's what I like to call it. The fault to my genetic code. More often than not, it's a curse. The static running through my blood gave me a name. A cruel, daunting label of a measly bug. A roach. That's what I am to them, to the government. Roach; the nameless monster with electricity for a sense and lightening as a second nature. It ruined my life, the sparking currents playing tag in my mind, running around and bumping into everything, shaking me loose. The government, actually. They ruined my life. My curse just gave them a reason. You see, the normal population with ordinary DNA, they don't know about the people like me. The roaches of the world. We don't get that kind of recognition at the camps. There, we are only one thing in the military's eyes. We are weapons and we will act like it. Everyone else out there, bathing in the goodness they don't know they've got, they don't know about the roaches their stepping on. As long as their getting closer to the sky, they don't care what they stand on to reach it. They don't know about the sparkling dreamer that's killed 7 people before her 17th birthday. They don't about the ghost of a girl peaking around corners for her entire life because even home wasn't safe. They don't know about the fighter of steel and iron sucking on his bloody lip courtesy of the wars he battles in as nothing but a shadow. They don't know about the masked villain who would do anything to see the army they lead claim the throne They don't know about us. But they will, because we will rise. And when we arrive, we will arrive violently. ___________________________________________ Started: 10.06.15 Finished: 3.17.16

WARNING: This book deals with a highly controversial subject matter. Reader discretion is advised. I fell in love with someone dark, twisted and evil. The sick part is... I can't stop. I had no idea that the man I fell in love with was a monster. I had no idea he was a psycho. There's a lot of sick people in this world, Evie. Believe me, I know." His words have tainted all of my memories. The warnings he gave me have each left a scar. He told me he was evil. He told me he was a monster. I didn't believe him. Instead, I fell in love. I now have a choice to make. I can betray him or learn to live with what he's done. What would you do? Excerpt. "Why?" I ask him, trembling uncontrollably as I kneel down before him. "Tell me why you killed them?" "Because they weren't you." He answers simply, gazing at me intently. "I couldn't have you... so I killed them." "My God..." I whisper, scrambling away from him in fear. "You can't tell anyone." He growls, chasing after me in desperation. "They'll tear us apart and lock me away forever." "Isn't that what you deserve?!" I cry, covering my face with my hands. "I deserve you." He whispers, prising my hands away from me. "And I've made a vow to keep you." "Even if it's against my will?" I sob, weeping violently. "I don't want that." He murmurs, raking his fingers through his hair as he begins to lose control. "But I will if I have to." He places a kiss against my forehead and my breathing slows down. His touch calms me and I despise myself for it, torn between scratching his eyes out and asking him to save me. Prepare yourself for a dark, addictive, gruelling and twisted story. Choose your own ending. For the first time my readers can select the ending they prefer. *This New Adult romance contains mature themes, strong language, sexual content and possible triggers which may distress some readers. All I wanted to do was change, change for the better. I just wanted to be a non-murdering, non-gangleader, non-player teenager but no. I just had to do things the hard way. Now I'm stuck in the chamber with a second generation demigod, who by the way calls me chicken, facing the past in real definition. Would it be so difficult to believe I was sent here by a titan? By the Roman Titan of Life. Yep and if by some chance I survive this, I'll have another crazy god/goddess, who's name I don't know, that wants to kill me for whatever reason. Yes just my life. Why couldn't I just be a normal teenage? 1) Death's Partner 2)Love's Partner 3)Life's Partner
