Cindy is a college dropout seeking a new beginning when she moves to a sleepy little town in Washington called, Highland Falls. Her demeanor and attitude change drastically as she arrives to town, seeming more mellow and carefree and becoming anxious as she leaves Highland Falls from time to time. Cindy befriends other fellow burnouts who engage in casual sex, drug use, carefree activities and soon Cindy releases what was left of her identity. One day as the 'gang' are hanging out in the forest, Benjamin one of Cindy's new friends tells the urban legend of a Mansion called the House of Mirrors in which an old lady went crazy and built an enormous house and filled with with riddles and secret passages. Cindy and the others soon become intrigued in the subject and research more on the legend eventually finding the location of the mansion, hidden deep in the woods. Soon their lives become greatly altered as they venture deep within the mansion for days, plunging deeper and deeper into its dirty little secrets...

Reborn again to change WHAT?
It was Edith's third life. First she was a poor hardworking girl lost under the pressure of work in the modern world of airplanes and computers but then she died.... Was this to avoid death or her lover? She couldn't really say but the only thing was some characters were now different from the initial novel plot especially Derek whom she loved.
