Ezra is living in hell--metaphorically and literally. Hiding from trackers and avoiding all other demons has made him go insane with the need to something, to do anything. So when he spots the angel Zophiel completely vulnerable and out of his realm, he recklessly saves him from the prowling demons ready to eat the pure one.

Unknowingly, Ezra's actions throws both himself and Zophiel into a world of danger and betrayal as Ezra tries to give Zophiel the slip all the while trying to figure out why he seems to not actually want him gone.
