Every reader has dreamed about the day they might find themselves transported into the world of one of their favorite books. It's why we read in the first place, to get away and immerse ourselves in a world that isn't ours.
But what if it was yours?
Monica Daniels is a senior in high school. Her grades keep her in reality, her video games keep her grounded, and her many books whisk her away whenever she needs the escape.
What she doesn't realize is that a real escape is much closer than she imagines. As she wakes up in the world of her favorite series, one full of hot aliens and a corrupt government organization, she has to figure out how to insert herself into such a dangerous plot without changing the story for the worse.
Will she be able to counter the plot points successfully and make the story her own? Or will she ruin everyone and everything around her trying?

He looked unsure and I knew he didn't want to. I shrugged. "Okay, I'll see you at home." He moaned. "Fine, but you have to ditch me right now." My face lit up like a Christmas tree and I was truly surprised. "Okay, let's go." * There are a few rules when it comes to ditching class. Rule number one: Don't tell anyone. The teachers, your siblings, your parents. Rule number two: If anybody asks where you were, always say you were sick and rule number three is to have fun. Louisa Shepard didn't know what she was getting into when she agreed to ditch school with Liam Gilbert, her host brother. She had the perfect attendance record, she studied in her spare time and she never missed a class a day in her life. Until she went to America in exchange and met Liam, the guy she could not get away from. Liam did not care about school. Can she keep her secret? Will she live? This story is written in first person and present tense. A fanfiction based on Rebecca Yarros's novel and series Fourth Wing from the Empyrean series. Most characters and the world are by Rebecca Yarros, but a couple of characters are created by me. It is recommended that you read Fourth Wing and Iron Flame before reading this, but this may also be read without reading those books. There are several things Lynn doesn't quite get about the world she lives in, which makes it harder for her to figure herself out. She is not your average teenager.
