Rose Bradshaw has worked hard to get to where she is, being the only girl to keep going out of the small group that started with her in the Navy, Some left after feeling they could not do it, and others from being bullied out of it, by Men who think a Woman can't fly, but to Rose that only makes her want to work harder to prove to them that Woman can fly and they can do it just as good as them, that they also can make the hard call when in the sky, to shoot or be shot.
Getting sent to Top Gun with her Brother Goose and best Friend Maverick as well as her RIO LTJG Mark "BullDog" William is another mountain for Rose to climb, she knows it's not going to be a walk in the park, nothing ever is with her, but things don't go to plan when the person she thought she could trust turns on her, setting off a domino effect of events, testing her harder than she been tested before.

Hello, I wanna start off by saying this is my first ever time doing a Top Gun story as well as making a story and posting it,
This will be a Maverick and OC story, OC being
Rose Bradshaw Goose Younger sister by a year.
This starts off with the 1986 film but I will not be following the film, I'm taking parts and twisting them around to fit what I want.
LTJG Mark "BullDog" William is an OC of mine along with
LT Jake "King" Smith
LTJG Timmy "Stingray" Brown
But them two will not be coming in until much later on, I just want to point them out just in case people got confused.
I also wanna point out I have Dyslexia so am very sorry for any spelling or grammar mistakes that may happen. I will also try and update as much as I can, I'm slow.
There will be swearing in this story, No smut sadly am too chicken to do that stuff, but there may be a hot moment here and there.
RIO - Radar intercept officer
LT - lieutenant
LTJG - Lieutenant (junior grade)
In the high-octane world of Top Gun Maverick, River "Sunshine" Bradshaw has always carried the weight of family legacy. Her father, Nick "Goose" Bradshaw, a beloved Top Gun legend, died before she was born, leaving her older brother, Bradley "Rooster" Bradshaw, with a lifetime of grief. Their mother's death when River was just 16 and Rooster 18 only deepened the divide between them, leaving River feeling like she never truly had a family. But after years of being apart, River returns to Top Gun as a promising pilot in her own right, ready to face the skies and prove herself. Reuniting with Rooster, however, isn't as simple as she hoped. Their once-close bond is strained by years of distance and unspoken pain over their parents' untimely deaths. While they try to navigate their fractured relationship, River also finds herself quietly entangled in a secret romance with Robert "Bob" Floyd, a fellow pilot whose quiet, steady presence offers River comfort and understanding. As River works to rebuild her connection with Rooster and find her place within the Top Gun program, she must also navigate the complexities of keeping her love for Bob a secret. Their bond grows stronger amid the chaos of training and combat, but the weight of their shared history-both personal and professional-puts their relationship to the test.
