Crescentia is the magnificent underground city that sustains the life of two hundred and thousand human beings; centuries ago, magic started to dwell between the Star Chosen individuals. But the magic that is contained inside every and single individual capable of molding it must be awakened by making a contract with a demon. Pandora is a non-Star chosen girl that lives amid the old and almost Crumbling part of Crescentia. On the day of the ritual to contract on the five chosen children, Pandora accidently performs the ritual and pacts a contract with Nocte, making her the sixth child. Now Pandora a non-magic carrier has invoked the loyal and dutiful demon Nocte at her service. * * * But does she really not contain magic within her? How was she able to perform an exclusively ritual by her own means? And will it be a sin if she starts to harbor another kind of feelings towards the emotionless demon, Nocte? In a city ruled by gods and gilded lies, obedience is sacred. The trials are cruel. The king is worse. And angels are not meant to question-they're meant to kneel. But she doesn't. When a spring-born initiate dares to defy the sanctity of silence, she catches the attention of the one being no angel should ever cross: the god of death himself. He should have punished her. Instead... he watched. He intervened. He let her live. And in doing so, he may have doomed them both. Because the Ivory City is rotting from within. And she-bright, reckless, and unafraid-was never meant to survive it. Betrayal was always inevitable. But he never expected to want her enough to let it happen. ~She was forbidden to speak his name. He couldn't stop thinking hers.~
