"So you're asking me to allow you, a demon, to watch over my son, where you would have any chance to kill him at any time, and for you to live under my roof, and for me to have your bounty cleared? What do we get out of this?" She asks, confused.
"Madam, with all due respect, a single Psyblood would never be enough to kill an Eryborn, especially considering he's only a year or so younger than me. However, if there were a larger group of demons, I would be able to help to protect him. I would never kill your son, let alone hurt him. I'm not sure what I could do to prove that to you, but whatever it would take I will do it. I'm just tired of living my life the way I have been." I say, determined.
"Clara, he seems very kind for a demon. I... I think I trust him." Parker looks at Clara, seeming to want me to be his guard.
Clara lets out a breath, "After dinner, you and Chris will fight. Magic and all. If you can prove to me you're good enough, Parker will enter your mind, and if he still believes you to be worthy, I will consider your offer. But if you fail to best Chris, or he doesn't find you worthy, then I shall have you sent to the guard and we will claim your bounty."
Parker looks at Clara, "But... wouldn't they kill him?"
"Of course they would sweetie, he's a demon." I gulp.
