Why do humans tend to believe what others say rather than judging them based off of their actions? Many lies, façades, and secrets continue to bubble just beneath the surface, visible only to those who have the sense to look further.
Granted, some people are much better at keeping this charade up and fooling all those of whom they come across. Considering the actuality that Hogwarts had been kept perfectly safe since its creation, there had been no threat other than the looming, perturbing feeling of an imminent attack from Grindelwald. However, that was until 1938 when a charming yet weirdly unexpressive boy was sorted into Slytherin. Tom Riddle had just been thrust into the world of magic, and he was sure he was going to conquer and achieve everything he put his mind to.
Artemisia Lennox somehow always saw through him no matter what he tried. Neither his unyielding allure nor his impeccable 'studious' act would work, and after all these years, he considered that it might be time to turn his very sought after attention towards the brazen witch.
But, many unexpected setbacks throw him off of his original goal throughout the course of his time at Hogwarts. One might wonder, how does a wizard come to terms with being something much, much more. Maybe, if he's exceptionally lucky, a young witch would help him along his way.
The plot and characters in this story were created by me, besides the infamous Tom Riddle, whimsical Dumbledore, blind-sighted Slughorn, and foolish Headmaster Dippet, as well as some well-known (mostly pureblood) last names from the Harry Potter series.
This is a story with MATURE THEMES, so please be advised before continuing. The journey ahead will be, in every respect, dark and violent.
