NY Bound

"Mom!! Some man is at the door"
I yelled. Even though she was in the living room.
She took a peak through the door. The man in the suit didn't seem to notice. She slammed the door and locked it.
"Pack all of your clothes and any valuable stuff ro. She calls me Ro as a nickname.
"But why? I have my ec exams..I need to get knot college at least and get money so we can get a real house instead of renting this-..this-.. What is this even?"
"ro I'm being serious. Go."

I stood still in confusion
"NOW!"
I ran to my "room" more like cupboard and took all my belongings. What are we doing? Going on vacation? Nah we couldn't even afford a bus ticket.
The man yelled and kicked the door. My mom tiptoed to my room and locked the door.
"Ro, take this money..buy a plane ticket to New York..you will get help from there on."
"Mom what's going on??"
I whispered.
"Go! Jump!"
She signalled to the window
I jumped and ran on the streets without looking back.
