Azrael Roquel is not your average teen. He's been through hell and still has not let his past go. At only twelve years old he watched his mother be tortured to death by his father. Forced to watch, it's been forever engraved into his mind.

Now at age seventeen, Azrael lives in a home for troubled kids. He's attending school for the first time since he was a kid. At this school, he keeps to himself. He speaks to no one except the teachers.

Sage Lanore is your average teenager. She's sixteen and has good grades.

When Azrael starts school, she notices certain things about him. She notices how he never says a word to any of the students. She's determined to get him to talk to her. Why does he seem so suspicious? Is he hiding something? If so, what is it?
