The Strange Desire of Evil

Twelve-year-old Crista Lilian Leonhart from New York is transported to a fictitious "orphanage" after the death of her parents, where she is given the name Eight and flees 4 years later. A seventeen-year-old boy named Ray Ackerman, helped Eight stay concealed and find her grandmother, who was still residing in New York. She and her two grandmothers moved to LA a few years later and went to a secret site that is only known to the Leonhart family members, but which, in order to hide itself, appeared to be abandoned. After leaving New York for a while, Ray went to see Crista when he got back but didn't know she had left while he was gone, so he departed again after learning this from someone else who owned the home she had previously occupied.
